CRUX Houston

Type: Indoor Climbing Facility
Location: Houston, Texas
Size: 22,000sf
Year: 2025

Crux’s first gym in Houston transforms a portion of an existing warehouse into a bright, energetic climbing gym and community anchor. The design embraces the industrial character of the original tilt-wall concrete and exposed steel structure, preserving its rugged authenticity while introducing the warmth and clarity of the Crux brand. New linear skylights were cut into the existing roof, drawing daylight deep into the climbing zones and animating the space throughout the day. Familiar material cues—plywood, clean lines, and sharp geometric moves—extend Crux’s visual identity while recharging the building’s role in the neighborhood.
